ABEC keeps control in the digital age
In order to provide the level of service Digital Realty requires, ABEC created a bespoke BMS maintenance package and specifically tailored maintenance reporting system. These are based not only on the buildings and their application, but also the expectations of Digital Realty.
ABEC is an on-going supplier to Digital Realty, it offers competitive pricing and flexibility for proposals that fit Digital Realty’s portfolio. For this particular contract, ABEC was specifically suited to supporting the Trend system. The BMS systems monitors and maintains the data centre’s power plant, maintaining cooling levels and overall operational functions.
Matthew Morrall, Operations Director of ABEC explains: “Data centres, by their nature, consume large volumes of energy. Strictly controlled environments must be maintained at all times to ensure sustained and effective operation, therefore the building and energy control systems are critical to their continuity.”
ABEC provides a 24/7 4-hour onsite response across all four data centres, so in the event of a breakdown or problem there will always be an ABEC engineer present to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. To date ABEC has never failed to meet this pre-determined response time.
The success of this contract is the result of the initial BMS installation by ABEC. Naturally a wealth of site-specific knowledge was accrued during the process, so Digital Realty was keen to retain ABEC’s expertise throughout the operation and maintenance too.
