Every staff member has a Personal Development Plan than sets out their immediate training needs, as well as aligning their personal training plan with their career aspirations. We ensure that a minimum of one working day per month is committed to training for all of our staff members.
Senior Management Team
Matthew Morrall, Director
Matthew has been working in the BEMS industry for 21 years. He has served in many roles throughout his career working for The How Group, E-Squared and Independent Building Solutions. During his early career Matthew gained qualifications including Electrical Installation (City and Guilds Part 1 and 2), a BTEC National Diploma in Building Services Engineering and a multitude of technical qualifications attributed to various brand systems such as Trend, Cylon and Honeywell.
Matthew gradually progressed his career gaining experience as a Service Engineer, a Commissioning Engineer, a Project Engineer, and finally a Project Manager working on a wide spectrum of projects for the Commercial, Education and Sporting & Leisure industries. In 2004 Matthew established ABEC (then ABC) with Andy Dyke.
Matthew’s career has primarily been UK based but recently has taken him to France, Switzerland, Germany and Ireland, overseeing data centre projects for ABEC. Matthew is very experienced in this area and has delivered BEMS systems monitoring and controlling Data Centres housing over 300,000 sqft of white space. This is an area Matthew holds a strong interest in. He currently also carries out a sales role within the business which he enjoys as he is able to utilise his operational experience and technical knowledge to help customers de-risk and gain confidence in the BEMS package.
Paul Morrall, Director
Paul started his working experiences in the M&E Maintenance and evolving FM industry back in 1992 with Maintenance & Technical Management (MTM), part of the How Group. Paul worked within various areas of the business and settled into a successful sales role, being involved in various large FM bids and part of a team that helped the turnover of the business grow significantly before the business was then bought by Tilbury Douglas (and now Interserve).
Paul studied the BIFM professional qualification while serving this time at MTM giving him an invaluable insight into the FM industry and many aspects of asset management. Paul is known for his passion for customer service and his commitment to ensuring client satisfaction pre and post sale.
After seven years at MTM, Paul established his own successful home refurbishment business, and subsequent plumbing contractor, where he worked within the construction industry for various M&E & pipework contractors until 2007. Paul then joined ABEC (then ABC) where he ran the Maintenance and Energy divisions, until moving into the Sales Director role in February 2013.
